Caleb University to graduate 13 first class tomorrow

Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State will on Saturday, October 17, graduate 13 first-class students during its fifth convocation ceremony.

The event, which will hold at the main campus, would have 291 graduating students from the 13 degree programmes in the three colleges of the university.

At a press conference to herald the convocation, the vice-chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Olukoju, disclosed that apart from the 13 first class, 113 others will graduate with second class upper division, 119 with second class lower division and 41 with third class would be awarded certificates at the ceremony.

He added that the College of Post-graduate Studies will graduate nine students with M.Sc. degree in Architecture, its first set of products.

Highlighting the activities slated for the convocation, the VC said a convocation lecture and presentation of awards and prizes to deserving graduates will hold at the ceremony.

Olukoju said the convocation lecture with the theme ‘Strengthening the Capacity of Nigerian Universities for Research and National Developments would be delivered by the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Julius Okogie.

The vice-chancellor further noted that the administration’s effort to build a university that produces graduates with entrepreneurial and leadership skills grounded in faith based ethical values are already yielding results, especially with graduation of the university’s first set of post-graduates at the convocation.
