The politics in Olabisi Onabanjo University is a dirty one. So dirty and dreaded than the Nigeria politics. We are in an Era of transformation of powers, both in the CEC, SHS, Legal, and Faculty and Departments.
One question all Oouites need to be asking themselves right now is: Will what happened last regime repeat itself again?
Are we gonna still have another sets of dropouts that their struggle will be swept under the carpets just for the sake of the fear of the unknown?
Are we going to experience another Era of power whereby the blood of the innocent cannot be avenged?
Are we going to experience another Era whereby illegal arrest and extortion shall be the order of the day?
So many questions are to be asked about the previous regime that needed to be answered. They have come again, the same way they came last time.
Oouites it's time for us all to wake up from our slumber and look at other universities and get to know what's going on there. And know how far we have gone In terms of student unionism or student struggles. Most of them have graduated and some are still with us here, but know that now is the time for us all to stand as one and fight to save OOU.
And you can only do that if you support and endorse the right candidates and on that day come to vote for them.
This time I say let's bullshits the words of the so call godfathers because their words is what have placed us where we are today. Outside the four walls of Ago and Ijebu OOU has not been properly represented. They only know us for things that ain't good, and your so called godfathers have been the ones ruling us since then.
I charge the 2014/2015 SUG ECO to please discharge your duties without fear or fervor or else posterity will tell on you if you fail to conduct a credible and genuine elections.
Our eyes are on you all and whatever you do in the dark will someday be brought to light.
To my fellow aspirants fear not my friends, the race might look tough but your determination and focus will earn you that, stop believing in that term Loyalty, cos you are not answerable to anyone this people didn't pay your school fees and they will not contribute a dime for your form fee. Their work is just to chop and clean mouth and leave you to receive all the curses Oouites will be heaping on you. They cannot defend you only the masses can. So follow the students and don't get lost. Say no to godfatherism, say no to self imposed leadership. And open hands to accept true stewardship and service to humanity.
