All over Olabisi Onabanjo University
campuses, far and near news has been
hovering that the school gates would be shut sooner than we think, Reason is because the government led by
Ibikunle Amosun has been reported to
be owing the school management some huge sum of money after making some certain promises.
Apparently, the school has tried sorting out this debt with government, which has bluntly refused to comply, due to this issue which has been on for over 15 months, the school embarked on a two days strike in the month of August 2015, hoping to get some changes from the government. This action has been said to be futile, the government has refused to pay the school her rights.
Since the 8th month of 2015 the Ibikunle Amosun led government after the strike has refused to listen to the cries of the school, Hence, depriving lecturers off their 15 months Salary Subventions and other Earned Entitlements.
The Olabisi Onabanjo University has
decided to go for a one week warning
strike which will commence on the 20th of November 2015 with the support of ASUU the strike is said to probably go indefinite if the government refuses to pay its debt to the school.
Let's hope for Change…and pray the
strike doesn't go beyond a week.
